Kahwa On Shikara

The day was sunny and clear, with a slight chill in the air. I was on a shikara (the traditional boat used in Dal Lake and other places), traveling from my houseboat hotel to the banks of the lake. The ride takes about five minutes, and during that time, you meet these entrepreneurs... as I like to call them, because that’s exactly what they are. The person in the image was selling Kahwa, coffee, and chai, on hisown shikara. Now, most of you know what coffee or chai is (if you don’t, why, ask your mum). Kahwa is similar, but local to Kashmir. I tried one; to be honest, I didn't like the taste much, maybe because its kinda a green tea, but what captured my gaze at that moment was the opportunity. Between him selling and us talking and laughing, plus the fake red roses he had, it just felt nice. I whipped out my camera and took some photos. This was the best one - with the roses, the man as the subject, and the light behind him creating a beautiful atmosphere. This is one of
